Taize worship is a meditative service of common prayer first developed by an ecumenical Christian monastic community founded in the 1940s in France.
Christians of all traditions share in this ecumenical prayer. A simple lay-led service, it lasts about an hour and consists of songs (using the beautiful chants of the Taize community), scripture, candle lighting, a period of silence for meditation, and concludes with prayers for the world. It is meant to foster reconciliation and peace among all people. Visit www.taize.fr for more information.
