Financial Report--John via email report
March represents 10/12ths of the budget year or 83%. Revenue is at 85%, giving at 84%, expenditures 83%. March had positive cash flow of $5,646 and YTD is now $9,955. Loose offering is back up and ahead of budget.
$27,000 will transfer from the endowment reserve in the last two months of our fiscal year for DSA expenditures.
Talked about how church vitality is measured at the present time. Earlier methodologies counted names on the membership role or Sunday attendance. Neither reflects how many people are impacted by FCC. Some “touch” the church throughout the week but can’t attend Sunday service. We need to figure out how to track participation throughout the week.
Discussed monetary giving as a reflection of commitment. 66% of last year’s pledgers have returned pledges to date. Eric’s goal is to increase our present 200 pledging units to 300 (50% increase).
Agreed to ask for $2000 in the upcoming budget to fund the July Leadership Retreat of Council and Ministry Chairs and $500 for Delegate Expenses to the annual Synod meeting.
Update on facility planning
Church office received DSA’s analysis of our survey results and the several meetings they have had with Council, Staff and Ministries. The report, dated 3.29.19 will be available through a webpage link and the raw data will be available in the office for those interested. Kipp and Sara will produce a summary article for the Easter Eblast by 4.15.19 including information about how members can directly access the data.
At present, we are waiting on DSA’s schematics and further information about the status of the sanctuary foundation and floor, and the steeple.
Review of slate and committee nominees
Ministries are recruiting candidates. Final slates due at All Ministries 4.16.19.
We have seven enthusiastic Building Task Force volunteers with an alternate if needed.
Prior to forming a Capital Campaign Task Force we first need to determine “in-house” or “out-house” since resources needed will differ depending on the route we take. Jenny volunteered to interview members and staff intimately involved in previous CCs and gather the pros and cons.
