  4. Next Council meeting is Feb 12. Eric and Emily will present their Pastoral Discernment following  some time in retreat together. Council will continue the process of vision development as we together (clergy, Council, ministries & congregation) discern God’s purpose for FCC at this time and place.

  5. Thanks to April Runge and Lisa Solarz for their tremendous work in updating/re-fashioning the DSA survey. Sara will have Lisa email the survey to Council Monday.

  6. The survey will go out to the congregation this week. It will be online with hard copy available. Due back March 6. E-blast messaging will go out to the congregation this week and next.

  7. There will be three facilitated discernment gatherings 12:30 - 2pm Feb 17, Feb 24 and March 3.

    1. Goal is to give the congregation opportunity to process thoughts, ideas and questions in a group setting including any that arise from the survey itself.

    2. Eric will facilitate a small table set-up using the vision oriented questions that have been added to the facility-focused DSA survey.

    3. Most of Council will be present with the task of collecting comments, ideas and issues from each small table. These will be added to FAQs which are in development.

  8. Additional surveys are being created from the DSA template for staff and the ministries. March 19 will be a meeting of all the chairs of ministries with David Choi. He will present survey results and facilitate discussion.

  9. Feb 19’s All Ministries will focus on ministry accomplishments for the year which will be input for the Stewardship campaign. Ministries need to be thinking about their slate for 2019-2020 and needs they may have from members rolling off.

  10. Next Town Hall 10:15 am to 10:45 am in the Chapel February 24.

  11. In future Council meeting we need to look holistically at our talent pool and the needs of the upcoming building task force, the capital campaign to fund it, the needs of the ministries (#7 above) and the two holes opening from Trudy and Sara’s end of term on Council.

  12. Eric reports there are 15 new members interested in joining, most with young children.

  13. Tough pastoral week ahead with three memorials and a major surgery.

  14. Eric closed with a prayer at 1:26 pm.

Faithfully submitted,

Kathryn Gooding Church Clerk
