Justfootprints - established 2007
Our Group's Purpose

This group seeks to care for God's earth by increasing our environmental knowledge, becoming active stewards of the environment, and, through projects, interfacing with FCC and the greater community.

This group seeks to know one another better by listening, expressing feelings, accepting others' feelings, relating assertively, and accepting one another (and ourselves) unconditionally.

This group seeks to connect with others concerned about our earth by facilitating connections with like-minded groups and organizations.
Justfootprints needs volunteers to help with "Food Pantry" garden
Click to view full sizeJustfootprints is at it again with two plots at the Park District gardens on Barlina Road. The planting is complete with healthy looking beans, beets, corn, summer squash, tomatoes and peppers growing like crazy! In fact, as of July 6, the HARVEST has begun!! Our gardening hours are Monday and Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and we would love to share the fresh air, quiet surroundings and good conversation with any and all who wish to join us as we tend our plants. Although our crops are donated to the Food Pantry, (over 500 pounds last year) we do allow ourselves a corn roast complete with cheese and nectar from the vine for all who share in our labor.

As we are somewhat working with weather conditions, a call (815-459-1137) or email(rmccutcheon@sbcglobal.net)to Rob McCutcheon would confirm your interest as well as the particulars of our gardening schedule.

Justfootprints at BIONEERS
Click to view full sizeOn November 7, FCC's justfootoprints group presented an exhibit table at MCC's BIONEERS event. The group "showcased" details of their "journey" among the congregation at our church, sharing their goals and hoping to encourage similar "green endeavors" at other churches. Below are more details about the BIONEERS:

BIONEERS - "Environmental Pioneers, bringing people together throughout the Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin regions to educate and share environmental strategies and resources"
"Bioneers at MCC" (on November 7) was a one day program to share the highlights of the national Bioneers conference. It featured panel discussions on energy issues, green business and saving water. It provided opportunities for participants to talk to over forty green businesses and organizations.

The Bioneers have held a 3 day conference for the last 20 years on the third weekend in October in San Francisco based on their principals. It has grown to include sites nationwide that share the information of many people from writers, scientists, economists, activists who advocate for social justice and Indigenous peoples proposing new pathways that will allow humans to democratically discuss and augment a sustainable future.
